This July The Ellen Theatre proudly presents the smash hit Broadway musical Mary Poppins. Featuring a cast of 26 and a sterling 16-piece live orchestra, audiences will enjoy such familiar tunes as A Spoonful of Sugar, Chim Chim Cher-ee, Let's Go Fly a Kite, Step in Time, and more. To ensure that your trip to 1910 London is practically perfect in every way, the show features two guest artists from New York. The multi-talented Gail Bennett and Jesse Swimm, who played Mary and Bert on the Broadway First National Tour, are coming to Bozeman to star on stage at the historic Ellen Theatre.
Based on the books by P.L. Travers and one of Disney’s most beloved movies, the stage musical Mary Poppins focuses on Jane and Michael Banks, who drive away yet another nanny, only to meet a most magical person who is, in a word, Supecalifragilistic! Mary Poppins, with her unique blend of discipline and enchantment, takes the children on exciting adventures, with unforgettable songs and exhilarating dance numbers, all while ultimately teaching the family how to love and value each other once again.
Mary Poppins – The Broadway Musical opens Thursday, July 11 and runs for 14 performances, with the final show on Sunday, July 28. Curtain time is 7:30 PM, with Sunday matinees starting at 3:00 PM. Beer, wine, and other refreshments, which are allowed into the theatre, are available prior to the show and at intermission. Running time is approximately three hours.
