Update: Due to the ongoing challenges of the covid-19 pandemic, and because it is important for our clients to be able to participate in this event in the same manner as the rest of our community, the 13th Annual Reach Race for Independence will be a virtual race. While we will miss the reunion feel of our traditional race, we still hope to kick off this year’s Independence Day with you (with accommodations)!
All proceeds from this celebration will help the adults with developmental disabilities we serve to lead independent, fulfilling lives. There will still be plenty of fun, adventure, and community during the virtual event, including:
-Completing a 1K, 5K, or 10K on a route of your making, any time on July 4th. If you would like to qualify for age group and overall finisher medals, you can register through RunSignUp.
Submit your finish time (duration it took you to complete the distance) through one of the following three methods:
a) Enter your finish time at the RunSignUp website: https://runsignup.com/Race/Results/17571#resultSetId-195072;perpage:100
b) text your name and finish time to 406-570-5852
c) email your name and finish time to dee@reachinc.org
-Costume competition with the following categories: most patriotic, best team costume, best promotion of Reach Inc, children’s costume, and most random. You must register for the race to participate in the costume competition. There will be volunteers available to take photos of costumes at pre-determined locations and times, and exciting prizes for the winners. You are also encouraged to share your own photos on social media (instructions coming soon).
–loneman photography is going to take photos of Reach supporters and racers in Bozeman on July 4th. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please observe social distancing, and show up on at the corner of Wagon Wheel and Heritage Drive from 9am to 11am.
-Poster Game: There will be Reach Race posters displayed around the Gallatin Valley. Find the posters, take your photo with them, and post on social media using the hashtag #lifewithinreach or send your photos to Dee Metrick via text (406-570-5852) or email (dee@reachinc.org). For every poster location you find, you will be entered in a raffle to win a fun prize. You do not need to register for the race to participate in the Poster Game-it is open to all!

Medals and Tee-shirts: Optional, short-sleeved, purple tee-shirts available to both runners and non-runners on a first come, first served basis for $10. If you order a tee-shirt, or win a medal, we will arrange delivery.
Race Information, Date, and Time: Complete your distance anytime on Saturday, July 4th, and share the results with Reach (instructions above). Please practice social distancing and recommended covid-19 precautions.
Refreshments: Please carry enough water and fuel for yourself and family members. Unfortunately, due to the current required safety precautions, we will not have beverages or food available on race day. We hope to have a more typical, supported race again next year.
